How to manually setup the proxy network in Ubuntu?
STEP 1: Go to Settings -> Network -> Wireless
STEP 2: Choose network in which you want to setup proxy
STEP 3: Select Settings option of chosen network
STEP 4: Select IPv4 Settings of selected network
STEP 5: Choose Method: Manual of selected network in IPv4 settings
STEP 6: Now Click on Add of section Addresses
STEP 7: Now insert your IP Address, Netmask, Gateway and DNS servers and click on Save
STEP 8: Now go to Network -> Network Proxy and choose Method: Manual
STEP 9: Now input your Proxy Address and Port for all protocols and then click on Apply System Wide
For Example, we have taken Proxy Address: 22.214.171.124 and Port: 9090
As you will click on Apply System Wide, you will be asked to provide Administrator’s password to apply changes system wide, so enter your administrator’s password.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox on your Ubuntu 16.04, follow below steps.
STEP 1: Open 1)Mozilla Firefox and click on Menu which is at the right-most side of your browser and then click on 2)Preferences
STEP 2: In Preferences of Mozilla Browser go to Advanced section
STEP 3: In Advanced section click on 1)Network and then on 2)Settings…
STEP 4: In Settings Choose method “Use system proxy settings”
You can also choose Manual Proxy Configuration method here. In that case, you will need to specify the proxy address for different protocols (HTTP, SSL i.e.,.HTTPS, FTP, Socks).
